Working at DelphiThe Provine High School Robotics team is a technological team that competes in the F.I.R.S.T Robotics competitions once a year. F.I.R.S.T stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science Technology".  FIRST is an organization that hosts a national robotics competition to inspire and motivate students to become more interested and involved in science and technology. All events are designed to be visible and exciting fun as well as educational.

The Provine High School Robotics team was established in 1999 after the team received a $5,000.00 grant from NASA-Stennis Space Center. The team is a composed of students from the 9th through the 12th grades, engineers from Delphi Packard, and three teachers.  This year the team will compete in the Lonestar Regional in Houston, TX. The culminating event for the team will be the Robotics Championship in Atlanta, GA.

The team is currently in its eighth year of competition in FIRST Robotics. Provine has Working to help out the communitycompeted in regionals in New Orleans, Houston, St. Louis and Atlanta. The team sponsors include Delphi, Corp., NASA-Ole Miss Space Consortium, and Jackson State University-School of Engineering, Jackson Medical Mall, Greater Jackson Foundation geodesy Survey, The Junior League of Jackson and Entergy. The school team is called the “Rambunctious Rams”. “The Ram Rover” is the name of this year's robot, and our team's motto is “Nothing stops a Ram.” Last year, Team #462 became online mentors for Team #1577 from Israel.

Approximately 90% of our team’s graduates are enrolled in college with majors that include Engineering, Pre-Med, Computer Science and Education.
